Hackathons
As part of our activities, we organise hackathons — obviously with a strong R and HTA component… Our hackathons are an opportunity for keen programmers to come together and solve problems collaboratively. Attendees learn tips, tricks, and best practice from each other. We have already organised two (independent) hackathons in health economics and details are provided below. Problems addressed include optimising cohort Markov models in R, inflating costs to the present year, and automatically converting Excel models to R. Our consortium plan to run hackathons in R for health technology assessment in 2020. Watch this space! You can also contact us if you would like to organise a hackathon within your own organisation!
